Painted Through Her Eyes
Painted Through Her Eyes: Juliet (5.10)
You know her name, but not her story. Inspired by the famous works of Italian sculptor and painter Michelangelo di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni comes a retelling of Shakespeare's classic play Romeo & Juliet told from the very perspective of one of the star-crossed lovers Juliet. The world through her eyes was only ever painted by the men in power, but is the peace found after her death really a happy ending? This project was created as a way to fundraise for the wonderful mental health organization "The National Alliance on Mental Illness," the nation's largest grassroots MHO dedicated to improving the lives of all those affected by mental illness. NAMI provides education, support, advocacy and awareness so that we all live better lives. We have created this fundraiser because NAMI, and the work they do, correlates with the struggles that Juliet goes through with mental illness. Donate now using this link: https://donate.nami.org/fundraiser/2779768. We appreciate any donation you are able to give especially during this challenging time in our world. If you or someone you know is struggling, call the NAMI Helpline at 800-950-NAMI or visit NAMI.org (If in crisis, text "NAMI" to 741741 to receive immediate help or guidance) Thank you so much for your love and support!

Painted Through Her Eyes
Painted Through Her Eyes: Lady Macbeth (1.19)
You know her name, but not her story. Inspired by the famous works of Spanish painter and sculptor Picasso, comes a retelling of Shakespeare's classic play "Macbeth," told from the very perspective of the "evil" and "ruthless" queen herself, Lady Macbeth. The world through her eyes was only ever painted in death and deceit -- but could that have been a lie created by the men in power as a way to paint women as the villain in the story? This project was created as a way to fundraise for the wonderful mental health organization "The National Alliance on Mental Illness," the nation's largest grassroots MHO dedicated to improving the lives of all those affected by mental illness. Painted Through Her Eyes
Painted Through Her Eyes: Ophelia (2.1)
You know her name, but not her story. Inspired by the famous works of Dutch post-impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh, comes a retelling of Shakespeare's classic play "Hamlet," told from the very perspective of Prince Hamlet's "young" and "naive" love interest herself, Ophelia. The world through her eyes was only ever painted in madness and deceit -- but could that have been a lie created by the men in power as a way to paint women as weak and fragile in society? This project was created as a way to fundraise for the wonderful mental health organization "The National Alliance on Mental Illness," the nation's largest grassroots MHO dedicated to improving the lives of all those affected by mental illness. NAMI provides education, support, advocacy and awareness so that we all live better lives. Painted Through Her Eyes
Painted Through Her Eyes: Beatrice (3.1)
You know her name, but not her story. Inspired by the famous works of 1960s American pop artist Roy Lichtenstein, comes a retelling of Shakespeare's classic play "Much Ado About Nothing," told from the very perspective of Benedick's "fiery" and "sharp" love interest herself, Beatrice. The world through her eyes was only ever seen as one where men do whatever they can to hurt the women that love them while making them submissive under the false label: "relationship." In this look at Shakespeare's classic work, we see Beatrice's side of the story, and how she learned that opening up her heart didn't have to mean losing herself, too.

Painted Through Her Eyes
Painted Through Her Eyes: Viola (4.4)
You know her name, but not her story. Inspired by the famous works of the French artist Henri Émile Benoît Matisse, comes a retelling of Shakespeare's classic play Twelfth Night told from the perspective of Duke Orsino's love interest Viola whom he referred to as his "master's mistress". The world through her eyes was only ever seen through the words and interpretations of men who silenced her and did not allow her to speak in her own voice. In this look at Shakespeare's classic work, we see Viola's side of the story, and how she learned to speak up and make sure the truth was heard. Thank you so much for your love and support!
