Melanie found her love for performing very early on as she started dancing when she was two years old following in the footsteps of her older sister. Falling more in love as she found singing and acting, she chose to make her passion her profession. She just graduated with her MFA in Performance and Pedagogy from Texas Tech where she diversified her work within the field of theatre. She has experience in intimacy choreography, vocal coaching, music directing, stage managing, and voice acting.

 

Rooted in her love of Shakespeare, she has become a creator and producer of a YouTube series entitled Painted Through Her Eyes which is a reimagining of Shakespeare’s leading ladies as paintings by famous artists in which they get to tell their side of the story. She has also used theatre to work within the Autistic and Neurodiverse community through her work with Hunter Heartbeat Method and as the Artistic Director of BurkTech Players. When she is not in rehearsal, she can be found reading, snuggling with her dog, singing around the house, or baking something sweet.
